Free Virtuemart template with quickstart demo from Yagendoo

Today we are glad to have a present for all Virtuemart users in our luggage again. The Virtuemart template "Yagendoo Virtuemart Vision" is available for Virtuemart 2.x as a free download from now on.

Why a free Virtuemart template?

With the release of the "Yagendoo Virtuemart Vision" template we want to support the Virtuemart core team with their great work for the Joomla! eCommerce world!

A few weeks ago we started a poll via Facebook whether we should develop a free Virtuemart template and maybe even provide it as default Virtuemart template to the Virtuemart core team.

With large distance you, our friends, customers and partners in the Joomla! world, voted for that we should develop a free Virtuemart template and provide it to the Virtuemart team as the default template. This is what we are doing now and thank you for participating in the poll!

Gladly the Virtuemart core team can provide our free Virtuemart template incl. all demo data on the official websites as a free download. Optionally the layouts could be added to the Virtuemart core – we also offer our help for this.

The team of the Yagendoo Media GmbH is available for the Virtuemart team for the maintenance, improvement, further development and gladly also for support & documentation of the template at any time – with pleasure we would like to be involved more in this part in the development of Virtuemart to support the Virtuemart team energetically that Virtuemart becomes lasting better.

What is the free Virtuemart template and what are its features?

The free Virtuemart template "Yagendoo Virtuemart Vision" is a Joomla! template with an already included Virtuemart theme (Joomla! overrides for Virtuemart), which can be installed like every other Joomla! template or extension.

Joomla! as well as Virtuemart are available in the template layout after the installation of the template. You cannot use the template in addition to another Virtuemart or Joomla! template.

Further development and maintenance

Like all of our charged Virtuemart templates, also the free Virtuemart template "Yagendoo Virtuemart Vision" will be adjusted to the development of Virtuemart and Joomla! continuously. So you can safely use the template and plan with it knowing that it will be further developed in the future.

As already mentioned in the previous section we have structured the template simple and clear deliberately so it is really suitable as basis for every shop. License

The template is freely available for private persons or companies and is published under the GNU/LGPLv2. You may use the template for your own sites, use it on other websites or create an own template based on it and continue distributing it. All copyrights in the code have be maintained. The Virtuemart & Yagendoo copyright may be removed, however we would be glad, if the refernce to us and the Virtuemart team would be kept so we and the Virtuemart team can provide open source software also in the future.

Compatibility

Virtuemart
The Virtuemart template is available for Virtuemart 2.x exclusively. A usage with Virtuemart 1.x is not possible.

Joomla!
The Virtuemart template is compatible with Joomla! 1.6, 1.7, 2.5 and 3.0. The usage with Joomla! 1.0 or 1.5 is regrettably not possible.

Compatibility matrix
The template is developed and tested for the following versions. We will keep the compatibility matrix up to date also in the future so you can see whether your Virtuemart and Joomla! version is compatible with the template easily. If a version is marked with a plus sign ("+"), this means that all versions starting from this and higher work properly in combination with the template.

Self-evident may the original PDF be distributed or provided as download without any restrictions – it is appropriate to link directly to our PDF so always the latest version of the documentation is distributed.

Actually the documentation is available in english and german. We would be pleased if we find some volunteers whi translate the documentation into other languages so we can provide them also to download.

Support

Until further notice we provide support for the template through the comments below this post for you. This means if it comes to technical errors or problems with the template we will have a look at them and fix possible bugs.

At a later stage, when it is predictable how much the template is liked, whether it is assumed by the Virtuemart team and how big the general feedback is, we will optionally also provide the support in the official Virtuemart forum or the Yagendoo forum.

We don't offer support for questions to adjustments, customization desires and basic Virtuemart questions. We ask you to use the official Virtuemart forum in this purpose.

At this point, for legal reasons we have to refer to the fact that we, as usually practises by open source projects, cannot give any warranties or guarantees for the functionality and the compatibility to 3pd extensions of the software.
