Wordpress Version
The theme has been developed and tested for Wordpress version 3.x.x+ and higher.
PHP Version
Minimum requirement PHP5! The primary development platform for all WordPress themes by Yagendoo is PHP version 5 or higher. If you use PHP4, this won't be a problem, as your web host usually allows you to update the PHP version to PHP5.
Javascript
For a correct functionality of your theme for the visitors of your website, your users have to make sure that their browsers support JavaScript, which usually is the case. If JavaScript is deactivated, certain components of the theme ( e.g. the drop-down menu or the slideshow) will not work properly.
Installing and configuring the Yagendoo WordPress theme is very easy. In the following, you will learn how to install
and configure the theme.
1. Installing the Theme
Log-on to the Admin area of your Wordpress installation. Normally, you can access this area by calling up the following address in your web browser:
http://www.yourdomain.tld/wp-admin/
After logging on, select the "Themes" menu item in the "Design" tab. In the upper area, you will find two tabs. Select the "Install themes" tab and click "Upload". You now have the possibility to select the theme by the "Browse" icon of your computer and install it by clicking "Install now".
Alternatively, you can upload the theme to your server by FTP. If you choose this alternative, the theme has to be located under the following path:
/wp-content/themes
Select the "Themes" menu item in the "Design" tab again. You should now find an entry for the Yagendoo WordPress theme. A click on "Activate" underneath the entry will activate the theme on your WordPress installation.
After activating the theme, the following message should appear:
The WordPress theme has successfully been installed and can now be configured.
2. Configuring the Yagendoo WordPress Theme
Yagendoo WordPress themes are widget ready themes and come with various areas in the theme that can be filled with widgets. All standard WordPress widgets are supported and displayed correctly.
Add widgets
Switch to the "Widgets" menu item in the "Design" tab. Here, you can drag the available widgets of your WordPress installation into the respective areas of the theme by drag-and-drop and configure them.
Manage Header Menu
Switch to the "Menus" menu item in the "Design" tab. Here, you can create a user-defined WordPress menu or select from the already existing menus and assign a respective menu to the placeholder "Header navigation" in the WordPress theme.
