Joomla! Version
Every Yagendoo product has been exclusively developed for the use under Joomla! 1.5 or later versions.
PHP Version
PHP 5 or higher required! The PHP version 5 or higher is the primary development platform for all Yagendoo add-ons. It won't be a problem if you're still using PHP 4 since your web host normally enables you to use the php version on PHP 5 without problems.
Virtuemart Version
Virtuemart 1.1.3 or higher required! The Virtuemart version 1.1.3 or higher is the primary development platform for all Yagendoo add-ons.
Installing a Yagendoo Virtuemart Complete Theme is really easy and takes just a few steps. In the following, you will learn how to install and commission a Yagendoo Virtuemart Complete Theme after downloading it.
1.) Installing the Virtuemart Themes
a) Unzip the package (unzip_yagendoo_vm_THEMENAME.zip) you have downloaded via the download link after the purchase to a local folder on your pc. The package contains the themes folder (and the readme.txt, which you can ignore since you are already reading the documentation).
b) Upload the Virtuemart Themes folder "yagendoo_THEMESNAME" to the Virtuemart Themes registry, located under "YOUR-JOOMLA-FOLDER/components/com_virtuemart/themes/". Please refer to the screenshot to see how it should look like.
Note: As some servers are not 100% compatible with Joomla! (wwwrun-problem), please check the CHMOD rights of the files and folders. All folders have to be set to a CHMOD of 755 and all files to a CHMOD of 644.
c) Open the Joomla! back end and navigate to your Virtuemart configuration and the section "Admin > Configuration > Site Tab". Check the "Layout" area on the right-hand side. Select the Virtuemart theme you have purchased from the "Themes Selection" (Select the theme for your shop) and click on "Save" in the upper area.
d) Navigate back to the "Site Tab" in which you have just selected the theme. Here, you have to adjust three more settings:
- In "Default number of products in a row", select "1". The theme is optimized for this quantity per row.
- In "Category Template", select the Yagendoo theme.
- In "FLYPAGE", select the theme you would like to use as standard for the product details page. (Later, you have to select a theme for certain categories. This can deviate from the standard. We will get to this in the next steps.)
e) Navigate to the Virtuemart Category settings "Store > Summary > Category Tree". Here, you will have to make the following settings for each (!) of your categories:
- In "Show x products per row", select "1". The theme is optimized for this quantity per row.
- In "Category Browse Page", select the Yagendoo theme you have purchased.
- In "Category Flypage", select one of the Yagendoo Flypages themes you have purchased. Here, you can set precisely which product details theme you would like to use for which category. After a successful download, the Yagendoo Flypage themes you have purchased should appear in the selection list.
2.) Setting up the Virtuemart Theme
You can make various settings for our Complete Virtuemart Themes by using parameters. In the following, we will explain in a nutshell where you can adjust the parameter settings. We will not refer to particular issues here since the function of the respective parameters appears as scroll-over tool-tips of the parameter titles and is self-explanatory.
Navigate to the next area in your Virtuemart Backend "Admin > Configuration > Site Tab". On the right-hand side, you will find the Layout area again. In the same place as the setting "Select the theme for your Shop", you will find a second link called "configuration". By clicking on this link, you will get to the parameters.
The parameters can vary from theme to theme. Multi-colored themes, for example, contain a parameter for adjusting the color, or you can select whether or not featured products will be displayed. As mentioned above, the explanation of the parameters can be found in the respective tool tips of the parameter names.
