b) Navigate into your Joomla! backend to the Joomla! installer and select the module package you have previously downloaded to your PC and which is now on your pc. Install it using Joomla! installer. If the installation has been successful, a respective message will appear.

2. Overview on the Yagendoo Virtuemart Category Image Module
Each main category of your Virtuemart shop is displayed with a field as seen in the picture on the right, along with its direct sub-categories.
In addition, the category picture and the category description can also be displayed. The module can be displayed horizontally or vertically.
Moreover, the module can show how many products are available in each category.
3. Configuring the Yagendoo Virtuemart Image Category Module
In your Virtuemart backend, navigate to the menu item Extensions -> Module. Here, you will find the "Yagendoo Virtuemart Category Image" module.
Amongst others, you can make the changes mentioned above here. The module suffix is followed by the designation of the categories that are to be displayed. These will only be displayed up to the second level as the module won't display more than this as well. Thus, it is also possible to only display specific sub-categories.
In the next entry field, you can count the number of products in the respective categories. These will be displayed in brackets after the category name. Moreover, you can set whether the category image and the category description of your Virtuemart categories are to be displayed or not.
In the next step, you can determine the size of the images. The size is also the basis for the width of the left side of each field (picture & description). After this, you can set the size and height of the field. If you enter 0, the size will be determined according to the content of the field and is variable.
The last setting is the compatibility mode. Since the module structure is similar to a regular Joomla menu, the module may be displayed incorrectly. If you activate the compatibility mode, another list type will be used which will usually solve this problem. If the problem continues to exist, please check the FAQs.
4. FAQs
The Yagendoo Virtuemart Module for image categories does not look good and seems to be messed up.
It might happen that the template of your Joomla website overwrites the settings of the module. Activate the compatibility mode in the module parameters.
The following trick might help you if the compatibility mode has not improved the display: Use FTP to download the main CSS file (often called "template.css") in the folder for css files (often called "css", "style" or "styles") in the /templates/YOUR-TEMPLATE/ folder.
Also, download the yagendoo.css in the modules/mod_yagendoo_vm_cat_pic/assets/css folder.
Copy everything from the Yagendoo CSS to the end of the template CSS. If this does not work, repeat the process with other CSS files of your template. Afterwards, re-upload the changed template CSS file to the server.
This trick can also help you with other modules and components if they are not displayed correctly.
I have created a new category, but it's not displayed.
Navigate to the module's parameters in the Joomla! backend and check if the new category has been marked in the category field. Another possibility is that the category is not activated in Virtuemart itself.
The main category and sub-categories slip underneath the picture instead of being displayed beside it.
In this case, try to vary the parameters. Reduce the parameters for the picture size and/or increase the width of the field (third configuration field from bottom)
The description and categories expand beyond the lowest frame.
Change the height of the field (second configuration field from below), even to 0 if necessary, so that the height will be set automatically.
When I try to install the module, I get a white screen headed "-1- an error occurred" and below "Unable to copy selected file."
Uninstall the module by browsing to the menu item Add-ons>Install/Uninstall and to the module tab therein. Here, select the module and uninstall it. Now re-install the module.
