System requirements
Joomla VersionAll Yagendoo extensions requires Joomla v1.5 and above.
PHP VersionPHP 5 is the minimum requirements of PHP and it is our primary development platform for all Yagendoo extension.
MySQLMySQL 4.1 or above is required. All Yagendoo extensions are not tested on a system with MySQL 4.0 or lower.
How to install the Yagendoo Banner AdSpot Pro Module
1.) Download the product file using the link sent to you by e-mail after the placement of your order.
2.) Navigate to your Joomla! Backend to the Joomla! Installer. There, choose the package you have downloaded before and which is now in your pc and install it by using the Joomla! Installer. When the installation was successful, you will be shown the notice that the module has been installed successfully.
How to configure the Yagendoo Banner AdSpot Pro Module
Navigate to your module manager and open the Yagendoo VM Search Module. You will now see various choices for configuration.
1.) Basic settings of the Banner Adspot Pro Module
Joomla Standard: module suffix to allocate a particular style to the module by CSS. Please read the Joomla! manual for further information on this parameter.
1.2) Settings for the e-mail sender
a) Advertising administrator e-mail: In this field, you can set the sender's address of the e-mails your clients will receive upon the pending expiry or expiry of the banners (e.g. the administrator's mail address).
b) Sender's name: In this field, you can set the sender's name for the e-mails referred to above (e.g. Advertising | Yagendoo Team).
a) In this field, you can set the reference of the e-mail that will be sent when the order period of the banner has expired (e.g. "Your banner order on Yagendoo.com has expired.").
b) This is an optional text to be inserted into the e-mail in order to inform the advertiser that the banner has expired. The mail comprises a standard text and this optional text which will be inserted at the end of the mail just above the farewell line.
If you enter the following text into this field:
We are happy to count you amongst our advertising clients. Do you want to renew your banner booking? Then please contact us.The mail your client will receive in this case will be structured as follows:
Hello NAME,Note: The fields "NAME", "URL" and "TITLE" will always be automatically obtained from the module.
Your banner order which redirects to the URL with the title TITLE has expired.
We are happy to count you amongst our advertising clients. Do you want to renew your banner booking? Then please contact us.
Kind regards, NAME
1.4) Settings for the "Advertising expires soon" mail
a) In this field, you can set the reference of the e-mail that will be sent when the booking period of the banner will expire soon (e.g. "Your banner booking on Yagendoo.com will expire soon.").
b) This is an optional text to be inserted into the e-mail in order to inform the advertiser that the banner will soon expire. The mail comprises a standard text and this optional text which will be inserted at the end of the mail just above the farewell line.
If you enter the following text into this field:
Do you want to renew your banner booking? Then don't hesitate to contact us to avoid any organizational slacks. We would be happy to count you again amongst our advertising clients.The mail your client will receive in this case will be structured as follows:

your banner order which redirects to the URL with the title TITLE will expire in a few days.

1.5) Information and settings on the order button
a) In this field, you will have to insert the URL to the order site (e.g. to a Joomla! entry) that the order button shall refer to.
b) Here, you can select whether the order button shall be displayed or not.
c) In this field, you can insert the text to be displayed on the order button. Please make sure that the text on it won't be too long.
a) In this field, you can set the size of the banner. You can choose from various sizes: 16x16,32x32,125x125 and 250x250 banners (in pixels).
b) This setting serves to determine the banner's alignment. You can choose between left-aligned, right-aligned and centered.
c) This setting serves to determine the distance between the banners. You can enter any value of your choice (in pixels).
2.) Configuration of the banners and clients
As you see, you can choose from a selection of up to 52 banner positions. You can activate and deactivate each banner separately. In the following, you will find the description of all settings options for the banners and their respective parameters.
b) Banner file name: Enter the name of the banner image here - it has to be loaded to the image folder beforehand. You will find the image folder under the following path:
JOOMLA-FOLDER/modules/mod_yagendoo_banneradspot/banners/32/
Note: Every banner size has its own directory in the "banners" folder. Please make sure you'll always load the banner into the correct directory.
c) Link to the page: In this field, you can insert the link to the site the banner shall refer to (e.g. http://www.domain.com). Please make sure to always enter "http://" along with the other information.
d) Page title: In this field, the link title of the linked banner will be entered. This task is especially important for SEOs, since graphical banners will otherwise be useless to them.
e) Target window: Here, you can determine how the link shall react to being clicked. You have the possibility to open the link in the same window as your website or in a new browser tab/window.
f) Follow/Nofollow: This setting determines whether search engines will follow that link or not. If you set it to "nofollow", search machines will ignore you.
Tip: It is often the case with advertisements that they are ordered to obtain a backlink for one's own site among other things. If the link is set to "nofollow", this will not be the case. Nofollow links/advertisements are usually cheaper than "follow links". You should be aware of this when calculating your prices.
g) Expiry date: If a banner is booked for a certain period of time, you can set the expiry date in this field that will automatically "turn off" the banner. If you set the value to "0", the order period of the banner will be unlimited and it will not be blocked.
h) Mail for expiry: This setting serves to determine whether a mail will be sent to you as administrator AND to the client if the banner expires. The content of this mail is set in the fields described in point 1.3. You will find the standardized texts in the language file of the module in the Joomla! "Languages" folder.
i) Mail before expiry: This setting serves to determine whether a mail will be sent to you as administrator AND to the client if the banner will expire soon. The content of this mail is set in the fields described in point 1.4. You will find the standard texts in the language file of the module in the Joomla! "Languages" folder.
j) Date of sending for the prior notification mail: Here, you can determine the period of sending for sending the mail for prior notification that is to be sent prior to the order's expiry. You can enter any number in days. If, for example, you enter "7", the mail of prior notification will be sent 7 days before the final expiry of the order.
k) Name of the advertiser: In this field, the name of the client who ordered the banner will be entered. This information is necessary since the content of this field will be used when addressing the client in the mail. If you for example enter "John Q. Public" here, each mail this client receives will start with the address "Hello John Q. Public". In case you do not need this mail function for this particular client, just ignore this setting.
l) E-mail of the advertiser: In this field, the e-mail address of the client will be entered. Notifications to this client will be sent to this mail address. If you do not fill this field, no mail will be sent. In case you do not need this mail function for this particular client, just ignore this setting.
